The Fly Me to the Moon actress told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos about how her family is stepping out of their house this Turkey Day on the Nov. 26 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. “So this year, we’re actually going to go to a restaurant. We’ve not really done that before,” the Black Widow star said, explaining that her gripe with having Thanksgiving at home isn’t actually the cooking. “Every year I feel like it’s me and my father-in-law and we’re both doing dishes for half the thing. And I don’t want anybody to feel obligated to have to clean up.” Johansson, who was on the show to promote her skincare line, The Outset, continued, “I feel very fortunate we’re able to go to a restaurant and enjoy.” The crew will need a large reservation, considering the number of guests: “Colin and I both have big families — everybody’s got kids, lots of siblings, Colin's parents, the whole thing,” Johansson said. Ripa and Consuelos helped Johansson brainstorm what to do with the time saved by not being the ones prepping, serving and cleaning. “We should do trivia at the restaurant instead of cooking,” the actress exclaimed after the co-hosts quizzed her on Thanksgiving-themed questions. “We have time to do trivia and not do dishes.” A few years ago, Johansson revealed Jost’s Turkey Day cooking failure and the comedian replied with his dismay to her review of the dessert. While competing on Beat Bobby Flay in fall 2022, Jost said jokingly, "Yeah, we had the pie. She went on Kelly and Ryan and she's like 'He made this pie, and it was very zesty.' And she goes 'and he spent like four days making it.' I spent the morning! It wasn't four days. It's not like psycho. This woman, you say is so great…" Close
